The Centre for Endocrine Diabetes & Obesity Research at Wellington hospital and the Centre for Translational Physiology at the University of Otago, Wellington Campus are conducting a study of the effect of two different 6-week diets on the body’s ability to burn calories. Participants will be randomly placed on either an intermittent fasting diet or a daily mild calorie reduction for 6 weeks. Body composition, diet, energy expenditure and physical activity levels will be assessed during the study as will as your response to the diet.
We are looking for non-smoking men aged 18-65 years who are overweight and interested in participating. They will need to be free to come to the university of Otago for 3-4 visits over a 6 week period.
